Electronic
Ear Muffs
Until
now to protect your hearing you've had three options.
1. Don't go where it's noisey - kind of impractical, right?
2. Use the foam ear plugs the company gives you - sure these help
but you're always taking them in and out and they get really dirty.
You really want that in your ears?
3. Use those heavy ear muffs like you see at the airport - they
really block the sound but you have to take them on and off every
time you want to talk to someone.
Electronic ear muffs have a built-in microphone with an automatic
instantaneous on/off switch that triggers whenever the noise (music)
exceeds or falls below 85 dB. When it's loud, the mic cuts off and
your hearing is protected. When it's quiet, the mic turns on and
allows you to hear normally. And the mic volume is adjustable too!
So you don't have to keep taking them on and off.
These are perfect for the shop or stage. If you've ever worked in
front of a speaker cluster during sound check you'll know how valuable
these electronic ear muffs will be.
