The standard lens height of the Spot Dot 3.0 is 4.5 inches above the base. Some customers have desired a greater distance. The stand-off upgrade kit gives you three additional choices: 5.5 inches, 6.5 inches or 7.5 inches. Although I don't necessarily recommend the additional stand-off distance because the torque produced by the weight of the sight will reduce the magnets efficiency, we offer this option due to customer requests. I strongly suggest purchasing the magnet upgrade if you choose to extend the standoff height. Included with the standoff is a new plastic container to fit the increased height of your upgraded Spot Dot 3.0
For those that might not want a finished kit, you can make your own. All you really need is a few bolts, nuts, washers and some sort of sturdy container that will hold the Spot Dot 3's increased height. For those of you who don't want to bother, I've done the legwork for you. You're free to choose which option is best for you. Either way, have a good show.
